"A Cricketer's life is very challenging" - Yuvraj Singh

Humorous Quote by Yuvraj Singh - "A cricketer's life is very challenging'
Yeah sure. Driving a Crore Rs. worth Hummers in India. Dating Bollywood Actresses. Appearing on front covers of fashion magazines. Wearing Tag and Rolex. Contracting with companies for a few million bucks for posing in front of television. Flying business class to coutries. Living in five star hotels. Having one billion people as fan base.

Boy, it sounds so challenging and tough. I am jealous as hell. Are you?

It's challenging because they have to live with the fact that they don't always deserve what they get, be it good or bad...kabhi na kabhi to wo bhi apne aap ko dhoondte honge is bheed mein...also, they rise to fame in a minute and are dumped the next minute...don't forget how people react when we lost a cricket match...throwing stones on their homes, hurting their families, burning effigies, scratching and tagging their posters...they take it all. Don't just see the success. See their failures and you'd pity them.

I am not jealous. I am happy to live with a set of people who won't leave me when I fail, who'll stand by me and love me despite all my limitations.
I am not jealous, because I don't need to pretend in front of people what I am not.

I am jealous. But more than jealousy I feel pity for other sports players.. The real challenge is with players who are not with Cricket! Just for example.. Vishwanathan Anand when returned with the World Champion Title in the wee hours.. his welcome was not even comparable with cricketers' welcome. Real challenge is for these guys!

@Tapasya, I completely disagree with you. You and I have no idea at all what a million bucks feel like. Even if they are dumped, they are dumped with a ton of money in their bank accounts. So why bother?

Vineeta, very true. We are a nation of crazy cricket lovers.

Bhavin yaar, dont be so pessimistic ..

They have to literally and hv to work their ass out to reach and to get luxuries which you have mentioned .. Ofcourse, they get more than they deserve but still you just cant take credits away for their hardwork and dilligence .. there is no alternative to hardwork and there r no free donuts in this world ..

They earn hell lot of money because after sheer hard work, they hv reached that place .. talent with hard work always pays buddy ..

ANd yes, apart from hard work , they are most of the time away from home-family-friends .. One moment they r hero / god / super-powerful, very next moment all the goons of our society will attack and will try to burn their effigies, bring down their houses, abuses their families and tear their posters/banners..

so dude, calm down .. put urself in their shoes (without considering the money part) and u will realize, cricketrs' life is quite a challenge !!

A vigorous defense from a cricket fan!
I've said enough in the post already. So will not attack more.

I agree that it takes lots of hard work to be selected for national team.. but it holds true for every sportsperson..its a pity that only cricketers get all the fame and name - even if it is for short duration - they do get it. I really wish that corporates and government take genuine interest in promoting other sports as well !
